SIAPEKA (Mathematics Education Academic Information System)
SIAPEKA is a specialized academic information system developed for the Mathematics Education Study Program to support the digital transformation of academic and thesis management processes. The platform was designed to centralize and simplify workflows that are traditionally handled manually, particularly in thesis administration and academic supervision between lecturers and students.
The system covers the entire thesis lifecycle, starting from thesis title submission, supervisor assignment, guidance monitoring, seminar registration, until the final thesis defense process. By digitizing these workflows, SIAPEKA helps improve transparency, administrative efficiency, and communication between students, lecturers, and program administrators.
For students, the platform provides features such as online thesis title submission, digital supervision logbooks, seminar and thesis defense registration, as well as automatic integration of biodata and academic transcripts from the university system. These features reduce paperwork and allow students to manage their academic progress through a centralized and accessible platform.
Lecturers are able to validate supervision activities, monitor student thesis progress, and manage grading for proposal seminars, result seminars, and thesis defenses. The system streamlines supervision workflows while giving lecturers better visibility into student academic development.
From the administrative side, SIAPEKA provides tools for user and access management, document verification, seminar scheduling, and academic reporting. This enables the study program administration team to manage academic operations more efficiently while maintaining structured and accurate records.
Technically, the platform was built using Laravel 11 as the primary backend framework with MySQL as the database system. The frontend utilizes Livewire 3.5 and Volt to create a modern reactive experience while maintaining a full-stack Laravel architecture. Tailwind CSS and Flowbite were used to build a clean, responsive, and maintainable user interface.
Several supporting libraries were integrated to enhance the system’s capabilities, including Spatie Laravel Permission for role and access control management, Laravel Excel for import/export functionality, and DOMPDF for automated PDF generation.
SIAPEKA represents a comprehensive academic digitalization initiative focused on improving thesis management workflows, strengthening lecturer–student collaboration, and modernizing academic administration within the Mathematics Education Study Program.
